For the sauce. In a separate bowl, combine all together with the ingredients then set aside.
In another separate bowl, add corn starch into the bowl and dredge the tofu. Shake to remove any excess and set aside on a plate.
Take a multicooker, open and unlock the lid by turning the handle to the unlock position. With the lid still open, turn the handle to the lock position.
Press the [MENU SELECTION] button to select the [OVEN] function. Set the cooking time for 40 minutes and temperature for 120 degrees then press [COOK]
Pour canola oil into the cooker then fries the tofu until lightly browned. Season with salt and pepper. Once cooked, remove the tofu and drain on paper towels then set aside.
Add oil into the cooker, if needed. Add the onions, garlic and ginger, continue to stir-fry until its fragrant. Then add the sauce and bring it to a boil. Finally add the tofu, stir and coat thoroughly with the sauce.
