Easy Lemon Chicken

The tangy lemon sauce at the end – a drizzle of sharp, citrusy lemon juice that’s first warmed and sweetened with honey.

Ingredients

Lemon Sauce;

  • Juices of 2 Lemons
  • Lemon Rind, Thinly Sliced
  • 4 Tablespoons of White Sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons of Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon of Cornflour
  • A Teaspoon of Salt

 

Flour Mixture;

  • 120 ml of Rice Flour
  • 120 ml of Corn Flour

 

Chicken Marinade;

  • 600 Grams Boneless Skinless Chicken, Cut into bite-size.
  • 1 Teaspoon of White Pepper
  • 1 Piece of Egg
  • 1 Tablespoon of Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Light Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon White Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons of Brown Sugar

 

Cooking Ingredients;

  • 250ml Vegetable oil

Steps

Marinating the chicken

  1. In a separate bowl, add chicken and marinate it with light soy sauce, white vinegar, salt and white pepper and sugar.
  2. Next crack in one egg then mixes it well.
  3. Set aside for 30 minutes.

 

Cooking the chicken

  1. Take a multicooker, open and unlock the lid by turning the handle to the unlock position. With the lid still open, turn the handle to the lock position.
  2. Pre-heat the cooker by pressing the [MENU SELECTION] button to select the [FRY] function. Set the cooking time for 10 minutes then press [COOK]
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the rice flour and the cornflour.
  4. Add in 250 ml of vegetable oil into the cooker. Dip the marinated chicken into the flour mixture and dust any excess off
  5. Place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry for 4 minutes until golden brown. Set aside on a kitchen towel to drain excess oil.
  6. Once the finished, remove the oil from the cooker by taking out the inner pot. Clean the inner pot and put the pot back into the cooker.

 

Prepare the Lemon Sauce

  1. Take the multicooker, open and unlock the lid by turning the handle to the unlock position. With the lid still open, turn the handle to the lock position.
  2. In a separate bowl, add in the lemon juice, honey, cornflour, salt, sugar and mix well.
  3. Pre-heat the cooker by pressing the [MENU SELECTION] button to select the [MULTICOOK] function. Set the cooking time for 10 minutes and temperature 100 degrees then press [COOK].
  4. Add the premade sauce into the cooker and cook it for 4 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes translucent. When sauce thickens, add in the sliced lemon rind.
