Mee Rebus

A Malay  noodle dish with sweet potato-based gravy that is commonly enjoyed in Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. The combination of sweetness and savory flavours are deliciously enhanced with a generous squeeze of lime juice.

PREPARATION TIME OF 15 MINUTES & COOKING TIME  OF 30 MINUTES

Ingredients

  • 1 Kg of Yellow Noodles
  • 250g of Blanched Beef, Thinly Sliced
  • 2 Sweet Potatoes, Boiled & Smashed
  • 1 Stalk of Lemongrass, Smashed
  • 1/2 Inch of Galangal, Smashed
  • 2 1/2 Tablespoon of Meat Curry Spice Mix
  • 1 Tablespoon of Brown Sugar
  • 700ml of Water
  • Salt & Pepper to Taste
  • Oil for Sauteing
  • Prawn Paste, Blended
  • 2 Cloves of Garlic
  • 5 Small Red Onions
  • 1/2 Inch of Fresh Ginger
  • 1/4 Cup of Dried Prawns, Soaked in Warm Water for 5 Minutes

Steps

    1. With the lid open and the handle turned to the lock position, press the [MENU] button and select the [MULTICOOK] function.
    2. Pour in oil and press the [COOK] button to heat up the oil.
    3. Add in and sauté the lemongrass, galangal and blended prawn paste and proceed to until fragrant.
    4. Add all the other ingredients, except the yellow noodles, and begin to stir.
    5. Turn the handle to the unlock position, close the lid and turn the handle back to the lock position. With the lid closed, press the [COOK] button and let it cook for 15 minutes.
    6. Once done, serve the dish with the blanched noodles
