Ingredients

  • 250 Grams Dhal (Yellow Lentils)
  • 750 ml of Water
  • 2 Dried Chilies, Soaked in hot water for 10 minutes, drained of excess water and sliced.
  • 2 Stems of Curry Leaves
  • ½ Piece Onion, Sliced Thinly
  • A teaspoon of Cumin Powder
  • Salt to Taste
  • 2 Teaspoons of Oil

Steps

  1. Place the lentils and water in the rice cooker pot. With the lid open and the handle turned to the lock position, press the [MENU SELECTION] button to select the [GABA] function. Press [COOK] and allow the lentils to cook for 25 minutes.
  2. Remove the excess water and smash the softened lentils.
  3. Add all the other ingredients (except the oil) into the pot and mix well. Shape the mixture into flattened oblong patties.
  4. Add the oil in the cooker and place the patties inside. Close and turn the handle to the lock position, press the [MENU SELECTION] button to select the [OVEN] function, and press [COOK]. Cook for 10 minutes on each side, flipping the Vade patties carefully in between.
  5. Once cooked, serve hot and enjoy!
