Dalca

A delicious stewed vegetable dish with its signature lentils and curry, its a soupy base dish that you don’t want to miss out on!

Ingredients

  • 150 Grams of Yellow Lentils
  • 1 Piece of Large Carrot, cut into 3cm Strips
  • 100 Grams of Long Bean, cut into 3cm lengths
  • 100 Grams of Eggplants, cut into chucks of 3-4cm lengths
  • 1 Piece of Large Tomato, Cut into Wedge
  • 1 Piece of Red Chili, Sliced Diagonally
  • 1 Piece of Green Chili, Sliced Diagonally
  • 1 Piece of Potato, Cubed
  • 2 Large Red Onions, Sliced Thinly
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, Sliced Thinly
  • 2 ½ cm of Fresh Ginger, Sliced Thinly.
  • 150ml of Coconut Milk
  • 750ml of Water
  • 1 Tablespoon of Tamarind Juice

 

Spices

  • 3 Tablespoons of Meat Curry Powder (Mixed with water to make a paste)
  • 1 Piece of Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 Pieces of Cardamom Pods
  • 2 Pieces of Cloves
  • 1 Piece of Star Anise
  • Salt to Taste
  • 2 Stems of Curry Leaves

Steps

  1. Put the lentils, water and spices into the rice cooker pot, close the lid. Press the [MENU SELECTION] button to select the [GABA] function. Press [COOK] and cook for 30 minutes.
  2. After 30 minutes, open the lid, add all the other ingredients (except the coconut milk) into the pot, close the lid and press the [MENU SELECTION] button to select the [MULTICOOK] function. Press [COOK] and cook for 10 minutes.
  3. After 10 minutes, open the lid, add the coconut milk and close the lid. Press [COOK] and allow to cook for another 5 minutes
